NOT FOR SILVER Remains Undefeated With Stakes Win In New York
Becomes NOT FOR LOVE's 55th Career Stakes Winner
02/15/2009- When trainer Michael Trombetta decided to send NOT FOR SILVER to Aqueduct for the 108th running of the Fred Capossela Stakes, he was hoping the 3-year-old son of NOT FOR LOVE would take his Laurel Park form with him.
He did.
Under Ramon Dominguez, NOT FOR SILVER came charging from off the pace and went on to a 1¼-length victory to remain undefeated in three career starts while becoming NOT FOR LOVE’s 55th career stakes winner.
“It went great,” said Dominguez, “What a wonderful horse to ride. When it was time to go, he had a great turn of foot in the last part. He’s very professional for a young horse like this.”
Bred in Maryland by the partnership of Dark Hollow Farm, William deBurgh and George Harris and currently owned by Ted Julio, NOT FOR SILVER began his career in October at Laurel Park, taking a 5½-furlong maiden race by four and one-half lengths, and returned to post a 6¼-length win in his first start at age three on January 15, also at Laurel.
