Freshman Sire Gets First Winner

07/21/2009- Freshman sire MEDALLIST got his first winner with GOLD WINNER, who turned in a medal-winning performance by sweeping to a two and a quarter-length victory on July 19 at Northlands Park in a 5 1/2 fur. maiden special weight. The juvenile gelding owned by Doug Blair and trained by Joan Petrowski was bred in Kentucky by Joseph Murphy.

Gr. 2 winner MEDALLIST entered stud in Kentucky before coming to Northview Stallion Station in Maryland for 2008, and took up residence at the new Pennsylvania facility when it opened its doors in Peach Bottom in 2009. A brilliant runner who earned $421,375 in a dozen starts, MEDALLIST has plenty of opportunities to strike gold, with 59 juveniles in his first crop!
